Mark Sherriff follows STVV in a different way

I had a different kind of Saturday night this week, not for me my the warm flat beer of the Balmore bar as is the norm but an evening in front of my computer watching the Limburg derby courtesy of Bet365. To watch any sort of live sport including the Premiership and Scottish football just sign up for an account (you have to be over 18) don't bother with the bank details if you don't want to bet and once you are registered click on live streaming easy as that. We normally only get the highlights of the game via sporza.be or TVL so I wasn't going to miss the opportunity of a 'LIVE' game. Unfortunately I didn't have any money riding on the outcome this week, after the games against Dender and Charleroi I thought I was STVV's unlucky charm so I gave it a miss and wont be tempting fate between now and the end of the season. What a difference in the team since the last time I saw them against Bergen, pretty solid at the back no more closing your eyes at every set piece, pressing the ball in midfield and some bright attacking play upfront mainly through Pospisil. The first five minutes was all STVV with a couple of corners and a moment when Debroux had three attempts blocked. G**K came more into the game as the game went on and probably should have scored just before half but STVV looked quite good on the break and could have had them under more pressure if the passing had been better. |
The second half started off the same way the first had finished with G**K pushing forward desperately looking for a goal and STVV counter attacking well. The breakthrough came in 67 minutes when Coulibaly took a pass then laid it off to Hendrikx who had a shot come cross, the ball then fell to Coulibaly who slotted it away. G**K continued to push forward and apart from a few scares right at the end never really looked like equalizing. It was a great saturday night apart from the spilt beer on the carpet when the goal went in, straining my eyes trying to see if I could recognise anyone I knew in the crowd during the celebrations and getting a sore throat singing along with the STVV fans. By the way is it normal to hear that much Booing at the end of a game in G**K. ;-)
