Football Supporters Europe (FSE) is the name of a new, independent and democratic network by and for football fans in Europe, currently representing fans, fans' groups and fans' organisations. The organisation wants to defend the rights and interests of football fans in Europe.
The Scottish Kanaries, as a supporters' clubs that unites fans from Scotland & Belgium in their love for football and STVV, fully backs the goals and iniatives of this new organisation and has therefore decided to join the FSE.
The Scottish Kanaries have also added the banner of one of FSE's projects to the homepage of our website: 'Our Game - Our Time' is an initiative to plead for more traditional kickoff times, which has been described by FSE as follows:
Wether it is Sunday in one country or Saturday afternoon in the other,
- we as active, organised football fans want our games to be played at traditional kick-off times that enable the active, most passionate match going fans to support their team
- we want match days to be fixed early enough in advance and for good so that travel can be prepared reliably, in time and at convenient costs,
- we call upon football governing bodies, clubs and TV companies, to consider the needs of supporters more important for the sustainable attractiveness of the game than short-term profit-making.
Raise your voice as football fans, hold up a banner, organise a choreography or an info event, inform in your fanzines, make press releases, involve your whole stand or your stadium. Become active and join the European wide Action Days “Our Game, Our Time” by using this slogan on your banners and info materials! The 30 April – 16 May 2010 will be the (grande) finale of the season in most countries across Europe.
So, make use of this time to make your points and to stand up for a change of the matchday fixing system in your country in future seasons!
Let’s join forces and blow the final whistle to kick-off times that are like a slap in the face for committed match-going fans…
..now! Together we can achieve more!
