When I moved down near Stockholm I sang with a few bands before, finally singing with a great bunch of musicians in a band called Escape, we then changed that to Vision and recorded a single called Changes. In 1986 I got married to a Scottish girl in Sigtuna and not long after we came back to Scotland and eventually settled in
St Andrews where I got a job as Head chef at University Hall. I am now divorced like all the guy's in The Scottish Canaries (we love football too much) I have 2 children, Calum 21 and John 18. When in Sweden I followed a team called IK Brage who come from Borlange, went to lot's of games, both home and away, even went to see them the day after I got married to see them play Djurgarden in Stockholm, Brage won 1-0. Went to work offshore on vaious oil platforms in 1991 and did that for 5 years in the North Sea (British Sector) and when I was made redundant, I worked at a few hotels before coming back to work at St Andrews University, where I still work. I am employed as Head Chef at McIntosh Hall, catering for 230 hungry students. From the age of 5, I have supported Heart of Midlothian FC, simply because my father bought me one of their football jerseys. First saw them play St Johnstone in Perth in February, 1964, they won 4-1 and I still have the match programme! I am a keen collector of football memorabilia, I have around 6,000 lapel badges, 3,000 programmes, 300 books, thousands of tickets, about 100 scarves, ties , coffee mugs, model football figures etc etc. I also listen to a lot of music, my favourite bands are Porcupine Tree, Blackfield, Genesis, Yes, Rush, Arena, IQ, Pendragon, Pallas, Jethro Tull, Kaipa, Pink Floyd, Barclay James Harvest, Marillion and most progressive rock bands. Became interested in STVV though Roy who had been to see them, and I love coming to Belgium to go to the games and meet all our many good friends at Cafe Stadion.
